Hayley Rowlands creates sculptures and hand thrown ceramics from her pottery studio on the Suffolk Coast.
She also offers classes and workshops.
Hayley was born in rural Dorset, where she first fell in love with the sea, coastal landscapes and the beauty and oddity of fossils and hagstones. She worked in therapeutic services for children around the UK before settling on her beloved Suffolk Coast.
Her professional life underpinned her curiosity around resilience and trauma and this has influenced her designs. Having lived for many years on nature reserves, she enjoys spending time in the countryside observing wildlife and the patterns found in the natural world.
Her work celebrates the beauty of the irregular.
She uses unusual combinations of bright and muted colours on stoneware clay, producing beautiful and unusual garden sculptures, alongside hand crafted jewellery and individual homeware.
In 2025, Hayley took part in Channel 4's The Great Pottery Throwdown.
